Singing

Description

Our Pform.nz Singing classes in Auckland are inclusive and fun, designed to take the stigma out of music! You will learn a group song each term and then focus on two for your end of year show.

Vocal training is incredibly important for aspiring performers; even actors and dancers need a trained voice! Whether you're wanting to enhance your skills to become a triple threat or just want to let loose and have fun singing each week, this course is perfect for everyone.

The technical component of the curriculum comprises many elements, from control, projection and range to  vocal health. It develops an understanding of harmony, articulation, pitch, basic musical reading and notation. A large focus of the class is learning how to strengthen our head voice, use our chest voice healthily and then bridge the break between the two registers. We work in groups for a large portion of the class, but there are opportunities for soloists and will also be singer-songwriter components of the curriculum.

Children must be 10 years and over to take this class. Basic singing is covered in the 4-7 and 7-10 year DANCE | SING | ACT classes. Our curriculum has no exams or grading. Instead we expose these performers to the most relevant test of all, the big stage! No previous singing experience or music knowledge required.

All Pform students perform in the end of year show. Terms 1 and 2 are an important training ground. They will use Term 3 to prepare their show item and will hone performance skills in the big stage show during Term 4.
